Khulna, Apr 07 (V7N) – A powerful protest rally titled "March for Palestine" was held on Monday by the students of Khulna University to condemn the ongoing Israeli aggression and massacre in Gaza. The rally, which began at 11:30 am from the Hadi Square of the university, saw participation from a significant number of students, faculty members, and staff.

Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, the Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University, addressed the rally, condemning the brutal violence being perpetrated by Israeli forces against the Palestinian people. He highlighted the indiscriminate killing of civilians, including women and children, and the destruction of vital infrastructure, such as mosques, schools, and hospitals. Dr. Karim expressed deep concern over the international community's failure to act and stop the escalating violence, urging the Muslim world to unite for Palestine’s cause.

In his speech, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Harunor Rashid Khan criticized the continued attacks on Palestine and the Western world's support for Israel's actions. He stressed the importance of global unity and solidarity in opposing Israel’s occupation and called for the cancellation of student visas for those who support Palestine.

The university's Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Nurunnabi encouraged the university community to take action, both by protesting and by contributing to charitable causes, particularly through donations to the Palestinian Embassy. He also spoke about the importance of public opinion in pressuring world governments to support the rights of Palestinians.

Other key speakers included Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan of the Business Administration Discipline, Professor Sharif Mohammad Khan, Provost of Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Hall, and Professor Dr. Md. Nazmus Sadat, Director of Student Affairs. Students such as Shanil Sardar and Tamim also spoke in solidarity with Palestine.

The rally concluded with a march from Hadi Chattar to the university's main gate, where students chanted slogans in support of Palestine. The event was followed by special prayers for the oppressed Muslims in Gaza, Palestine, and across the globe, led by student Tamiz.

In light of the protest, the university administration decided to postpone all special term exams scheduled for the day, further expressing solidarity with the cause.
