Rangamati, July 10 (V7N) – After a long wait, the construction of the student hostel at Rangamati Science and Technology University (RSTU) has officially commenced. The inauguration ceremony was held Thursday afternoon, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Atiar Rahman officiating the event.

The Vice-Chancellor cut the ribbon and offered a special prayer, seeking divine assistance for the timely and uninterrupted completion of the project.

The event was attended by the university’s Project Director Abdul Gafur, Executive Engineer Bijok Chakma from the Education Engineering Department, university faculty, officials, journalists, and representatives from the contractor firm.

Nearly a decade after the university’s establishment, the hostel construction project is finally underway thanks to the proactive efforts of the current Vice-Chancellor and the Project Director. Funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the construction work is being executed by the Rangamati Education Engineering Department through a contractor.

Bijok Chakma, Executive Engineer of the Rangamati Education Engineering Department, stated, “As of Thursday, we have officially started the construction of the student hostel at Rangamati Science and Technology University. In addition, work on the university’s administrative building is also ongoing and progressing rapidly. We are confident of completing the projects on schedule and to the satisfaction of the university authorities.”

This development marks a significant milestone in improving the infrastructure of RSTU, which is expected to enhance student facilities and support the university’s academic growth.
