This year, the largest book fair in the country, "Amar Ekushey Grantha Mela 2024," will open for business on February 1st, as is customary.

A total of 573 organizations have been assigned 895 slots. According to Muzahidul, of these, 786 are general booths and 109 are set aside for little magazine chattar.

Amid the problems posed by the operation of the Metrorail in the book fair region and the present political climate, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has taken all necessary precautions, as they have in previous years, to maintain impenetrable security of the Fair.

The DMP stated in a news statement following a meeting with top police officers that traffic management, arson attacks, and militancy are some of the primary issues centered on the book fair.

When it was discovered that criminals had been attempting to carry out sabotage on the Metrorail, DMP noted that the service has become more difficult.

But he said that DMP will station enough officers, both in uniform and in plain clothes, both within and outside the book fair grounds, and that a watchtower and fire tender would be erected to keep an eye on everything surrounding the fair area.
