Rajshahi, July 4 (V7N) Students of Rajshahi University have blocked the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway, demanding the abolition of the quota system.
 
On Thursday, at around 10:45 am, the protesting students marched from inside the university to the main gate, blocking the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway.
 
During the protest, they chanted slogans such as "No place for quota system in our golden Bengal," "No more tears for the meritorious," "Fight against discrimination, we stand united." They also displayed placards with messages like "Let the weapon of '18 roar once again," "End quota discrimination, free the meritorious," and "This country is not Pakistan, end the quota system."
 
Thousands of students from various departments of the university joined the protest. Braving the rain, the students continued their demonstration on the highway.
