Pabna, July 12 (V7N)- Students of Pabna University of Science and Technology (Pabiprobi) organized a protest march and rally on Friday (July 12) at 4:30 PM, condemning the police attacks on students protesting for quota reform across various parts of the country.
The protest march began from the Martyrs' Memorial Square on the university campus under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. The march traversed key campus roads and proceeded to the Dhaka-Pabna highway.
The march then circled Mahtab Tower and moved towards Calico Cotton Mill. From there, the students returned to the main gate of the university and concluded the march at Swadhinata Square, where a brief rally was held.
During the rally, students expressed strong condemnation and protest against the police attacks on students demonstrating for quota reform in different universities.
The students stated, "We have already learned that our fellow protesting brothers and sisters have been shot at and physically assaulted. Ordinary students will not tolerate such attacks on the peaceful student movement ongoing across the country. Students cannot be suppressed by force."
In light of the quota reform issue, additional police were deployed at the main gate of the university Friday.
