Chilmari, July 12 (Voice7) - In a successful operation aided by technology, Chilmari Model Police Station recovered Tk 1 lakh 68 thousand in pension money that had been lost by a retired headteacher.
Delwar Hossain, a resident of Nayarhat Union, reported the loss to the police on July 9. The police, leveraging technological tools, managed to recover the money on Friday, July 12.
Officer-in-Charge Pran Krishna Debnath of Chilmari Model Police Station confirmed the recovery.
The incident began on July 9 when Delwar Hossain and his wife withdrew Tk 1 lakh 68 thousand from Chilmari Agrani Bank. In their haste to board a boat to Ramna Ghat from Thana Hat, they left the money bag behind. Upon realizing their mistake and rushing back, they found the autorickshaw had already departed.
Following the complaint, police reviewed CCTV footage from the area, identifying the autorickshaw driver. After a two-day operation, the driver was apprehended. His information led to the recovery of the money bag from an abandoned house in Shikar Para area.
OC Pran Krishna Debnath stated that technology played a crucial role in recovering the lost money. As there were no charges against the driver, he was not detained.
