Mumbai, Oct 14 (V7N) — The grand Autumn Durgotsava, the biggest festival for Bengali Hindus, saw Bollywood actresses Rani Mukherjee and Kajol participating in the traditional Sindoor Khela on the final day of the festivities. The actresses, known for their deep-rooted Bengali heritage, celebrated the event with joy and devotion at the SNDT Women's University in Juhu, Mumbai, where they organize the Durga Puja celebrations every year.

As part of the tradition, on the tenth day of Durga Puja, married women apply sindoor (vermilion) on each other, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and celebrating the power of femininity. This year, Rani and Kajol were seen in their familiar Bengali avatars, exchanging smiles and smearing vermilion on each other’s faces.

Rani Mukherjee was dressed in a cream-colored saree with a red blouse , draped in the classic Bengali style, and adorned with Shankha Pala , the traditional Bengali ornaments worn by married women. Kajol also embraced the traditional look, wearing a white saree , with her hair left open, a red bindi on her forehead, and vibrant red lipstick to complete her appearance.

The festive atmosphere was captured by entertainment journalists, with images of Rani and Kajol joyfully sharing the experience. Along with the two actresses, many other celebrities, including Sherlyn Chopra , Rupali Ganguly , Ishita Dutta , and Vatsal Seth , participated in the Sindoor Khela, embracing the spirit of the occasion.

The event brought together the Bollywood stars, devotees, and friends in a heartwarming celebration of culture, tradition, and community, marking a memorable conclusion to this year’s Durga Puja celebrations.
