The Bangladeshi music industry is mourning the loss of Khalid, a beloved band singer whose iconic melodies captivated audiences for decades. Khalid, aged 60, succumbed to a heart attack on Monday evening at Comfort Hospital in the capital, leaving behind a void in the hearts of music enthusiasts across the nation.

Prince Mahmud, a renowned lyricist and composer, confirmed Khalid's demise, revealing that the singer breathed his last at 7:15 pm local time. The tragic incident unfolded when Khalid fell critically ill at his residence in Panthapath during iftar time, suffering from a cardiac arrest. Despite efforts to save him, Khalid could not be revived and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Plans for Khalid's final rites were swiftly organized, with his namaj-e-janaza scheduled to take place at Green Road Jam-e-Mosque at 11 pm on Monday. Following the funeral prayers, Khalid's mortal remains will be transported to his ancestral home in Gopalganj for burial in the family graveyard, according to Isha Khan Duray, a music producer, and sound engineer.
