Dhaka, Feb 23 (V7N)- Popular singer Mainul Ahsan Nobel has been arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Demra police station over charges of harassing a young woman. An arrest warrant was issued in the case, which alleges that Nobel tried to entice the woman into marriage and attempted to take an objectionable picture.

Nobel was taken into custody from the Battala area of Siddhirganj police station around 12:30 pm on Monday (February 23), confirmed Officer-in-Charge Saifur Rahman. He is currently in police custody and is expected to be presented in court on Tuesday (February 24) following legal procedures.

This is not Nobel’s first legal issue. In 2023, he was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) on charges of cheating by failing to attend a booked event. Additionally, on May 20, 2025, he was accused of rape and unlawful confinement, after allegedly keeping a woman in a house for seven months, from which she was rescued following a call to 999.

The police continue to investigate the ongoing harassment case against the singer.
