Actor Randeep Hooda recently shared insights into the grueling physical challenges he faced while preparing for his role in the biopic "Swatantrya Veer Savarkar," shedding light on the toll of extreme weight loss.

Hooda, who not only portrayed the titular role but also directed the film, revealed the immense strain he endured during the transformation process. Drawing parallels with his previous weight loss journey for "Sarbjit" (2016), he recounted moments of extreme weakness and fainting spells due to prolonged deprivation of food.

The actor disclosed that he had to shed significant weight within a short period, losing up to a kilo a day for an extended duration. Despite meticulous planning, Hooda expressed frustration over the physical toll and emphasized the importance of actors embodying their characters authentically.

Fans likened Hooda's transformation to Hollywood actor Christian Bale's renowned weight loss for "The Machinist" (2004). However, Hooda asserted that he currently has no plans to undertake similar projects requiring drastic physical changes.

In addition to the physical challenges, Hooda candidly discussed the emotional and financial trauma associated with his role in the Savarkar biopic. He revealed that his parents were deeply concerned about his health and vowed not to support drastic weight loss endeavors in the future.

"Swatantra Veer Savarkar," featuring Hooda in the lead role alongside Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial, was released in theaters on March 22 in both Hindi and Marathi, showcasing the actor's dedication to his craft despite the immense hardships faced.
