Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit, once one of the most popular and talked-about couples of the nineties, have had their share of public attention and private turbulence. Their love story transitioned from reel to real life, only to be marred by separation, controversy, and mutual complaints. Post-separation, they notably addressed each other as 'Sir' and 'Ma'am'.

Indian media outlet Anandabazar reported that after nearly 21 years, Sanjay and Madhuri reunited on screen in Karan Johar's film "Kalank". During the film's promotional events, they faced some uncomfortable moments, bringing their past back into the spotlight.

At one such event, when Madhuri addressed Sanjay as 'Sanjay Sir', Sanjay responded, "Sir, why are you saying that?" To which Madhuri retorted, "You also call me Ma'am."

Sanjay clarified, "No, I was going to address Madhuri."

Their co-star Varun Dhawan, curious about their formal address, asked, "Why have you been calling each other Sir, Ma'am for so many years?" This question caused a moment of discomfort for Madhuri, but she quickly managed the situation by explaining, "I respect him, so I call him Sir."

Varun attempted to continue the discussion, saying, "We also respect each other but..." before being interrupted by someone associated with the film, who hushed the topic.

At another promotional event, Sanjay expressed his feelings about working with Madhuri after so many years, saying, "I want to work more with Madhuri." Madhuri, hearing this, laughed openly, adding a light-hearted moment to the event. This interaction was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media, reigniting interest in their past relationship.

Despite their history, both actors have shown professionalism and mutual respect, navigating the complexities of their past while promoting their latest project together.
