Dhaka, July 11 (V7N) — A 65-year-old inmate named Yusuf Ali died in Dhaka Central Jail on Thursday night. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 10:00 PM, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

According to jail authorities, Yusuf Ali suddenly fell ill inside the prison. Following instructions from the authorities, prison guards promptly transported him to DMCH's emergency department. Despite immediate medical attention, doctors confirmed that he had died before arrival.

Yusuf Ali was an accused in a women and child abuse case filed under the Kadamtali Police Station in Dhaka. His permanent address is in Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur district.

Md. Faruk, Inspector of the police outpost at DMCH, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy. Further investigations are underway to determine the cause of death.
