SANGSAD BHABAN, Mar 12, (V7N) – Home Minister and BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed today said the 13th Jatiya Sangsad will serve as the central forum for all issues, helping transform Bangladesh into a powerful democratic country.

Speaking to journalists after the maiden session of the new parliament, Salahuddin said: “All the issues will be discussed in the parliament. It will be the centre of every sort of discussions.”

The senior BNP leader emphasized the importance of continuing democratic culture to strengthen the nation. “We want to turn Bangladesh into a democratically powerful country with continuing the exercise of the democratic culture where the country and the constitution will be reformed democratically,” he added.

He expressed hope that Bangladesh would be built free from fascism through sustained democratic practice, fulfilling the expectations of the martyrs of the Liberation War of 1971 and the July Mass Uprising of 2024.

Responding to a question about the Jamaat‑e‑Islami walkout from the House prior to the President’s speech, Salahuddin said: “They walked out following the due procedure. It is nothing new. It is not unprecedented. It’s also a democratic practice.”
