Dhaka, Sep 26 (V7N)- Alamgir Sheikh Titu, the former mayor of Rajbari Municipality, has been arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in connection with an attack on students during the quota reform movement. Titu was apprehended on Wednesday evening around 8:30 pm from the Dhaleswari Toll Plaza area on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Keraniganj.

The arrest follows a case filed by Rajib Molla, a student involved in the anti-discrimination student movement, on August 30 at Rajbari Sadar Police Station. The case alleges attacks on students during the movement and lists 170 individuals, including former Rajbari-1 MP Kazi Keramat Ali and Sheikh Titu. Additionally, 300 unidentified people were also named as accused in the case.

RAB-10 Faridpur camp company commander Lt. Commander KM Shaikh Akhtar confirmed the arrest, stating that Titu was apprehended based on secret information. He is set to be handed over to Rajbari Sadar Police Station on Thursday for further legal proceedings.
