Dhaka, Oct 19 (V7N)- Gonoforum has called for prompt elections following the completion of electoral reforms. The demand was made by the party’s Chief Advisor, Dr. Mustafa Mohsin Montu, Chairman of the Central Coordination Committee, after a meeting with Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Saturday.

Montu emphasized the need for reforms in various sectors, including the election system, commodity prices, the influence of syndicates, and the judicial department. He expressed that the party would fully support the government's efforts in these areas and urged for a collective national effort to address these challenges. Additionally, Gonoforum reiterated its demand for the repatriation of smuggled money.

Montu mentioned that if the Reform Commission’s efforts are fruitful, Gonoforum would submit a formal written proposal outlining their stance on the reforms.

The meeting with Dr. Muhammad Yunus marked the fourth round of dialogue between political parties and the Reform Commission. Several parties, including Gonoforum, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Jatiya Gano Front, 12 Party Alliance, and Jatiya Mukti Council, participated in the discussions.
