Dhaka, Nov 24 (V7N) — Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, a member of the BNP Standing Committee, has urged the current government to implement necessary reforms and restore the people's right to vote, stating that these steps are essential for transitioning from dictatorship to democracy.

Dr. Moin Khan made this statement on Sunday morning after paying respects to BNP founder and martyred President Ziaur Rahman at his mausoleum in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. He was accompanied by former UK BNP President Mahidur Rahman.

Expressing gratitude to the government for establishing the Election Commission, Dr. Moin Khan highlighted the people's liberation following the ousting of dictatorship, which he attributed to the resistance led by students. He remarked, "A group that had tortured the people fled the country in the face of this resistance."

Addressing the plight of those affected by alleged political persecution, he added, "Many went abroad due to false cases. Now, they have the opportunity to return to the soil of their country."

Dr. Moin Khan's comments underscore BNP's ongoing demands for democratic reforms and fair electoral processes as the nation prepares for upcoming political challenges.
