Dhaka, Dec 11 (V7N)- BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has criticized the interim government for neglecting the 16-year struggle of the BNP, focusing instead on the July movement. Speaking at a discussion meeting commemorating the 44th founding anniversary of the Nationalist Farmers' Party on Wednesday, Roy warned that the BNP would suffer the most if the interim government fails.

Movement and Political Dynamics

Roy expressed frustration over the interim government’s alleged bias towards other political parties, accusing them of prioritizing one party over the BNP. He emphasized that while the BNP’s movement continues, the government is inexperienced and the process of depoliticization remains a significant concern.

“Not everyone reaps the fruits of a movement,” Roy said, highlighting the uneven outcomes of political struggles and cautioning his party members to stay vigilant.

Stance on India Relations

Addressing recent tensions with India, Roy took a critical stance, asserting that India would struggle to cope without Bangladesh. He suggested that if Bangladesh refrains from engaging with India, it could save billions. Roy also welcomed India’s decision to halt visas and urged the government to take action against illegal Indian residents in Bangladesh, advocating for their return to their home country.

This fiery speech reflects the BNP’s resolve to continue its political movement while challenging both domestic and international dynamics impacting the country.
