London, Jan 14 (V7N) — BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia continues to undergo various health tests at The London Clinic, with her personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain stating that the reports are expected to be completed by Friday. The results will help doctors formulate a detailed treatment plan for her ongoing health issues.

During a briefing in front of The London Clinic on Monday evening, Dr. Zahid Hossain said, “Doctors are swiftly making necessary adjustments to her treatment. Specialists in nephrology, hepatology, and liver transplantation are closely monitoring her condition daily, making changes based on test results.”

He noted that some adjustments have been made to the treatment she previously received in Bangladesh. However, the reports concerning her liver disease and heart complications remain incomplete.

Highlighting Khaleda Zia’s concern for others, Dr. Zahid said, “She never wanted her illness to be publicised. Despite enduring significant hardships, her focus has always been on the people. Even today, she expressed concern for journalists waiting in the cold and urged them to leave, while seeking prayers from the nation.”

UK BNP leaders, including President MA Malek and General Secretary Koychar M Ahmed, have been closely monitoring her situation. President Malek told local journalist Shahed Shafiq that acting chairman Tarique Rahman, his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and their daughter Barrister Jayma Rahman spent the day at the hospital, keeping Khaleda Zia company.

“Khaleda Zia is gradually recovering,” Malek said. “We are requesting prayers from the nation for her swift recovery.”

The BNP leader has been undergoing treatment in London following a long period of illness in Bangladesh, where she had been receiving medical care under significant restrictions.
