Pabna, Jan 23, (V7N) - Jamaat-e-Islami is hoping for reforms in the best interest of the country and its people. The party expects quick reforms and early elections to meet the aspirations of the people. This statement was made by Professor Mia Golam Parwar, the Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
 
Speaking as the chief guest at the annual Rukon Conference of Pabna District Jamaat held at Darul Aman Trust Ground on Wednesday (January 22), Professor Parwar emphasized the party's position.
 
“We demand electoral system reforms. To this end, a delegation from Jamaat-e-Islami has submitted proposals for the reform of the Election Commission. We have also proposed a proportional representation electoral system. A thorough discussion and review on this matter could lead to a viable solution,” he said.
 
He further explained, “If an Islamic social system based on humanity is established in the country, it will eliminate economic, political, and social disorder, prevent cultural aggression, and bring discipline in society. Once a true Islamic society is established, people will be free from fear, and they will live a disciplined life, performing all tasks efficiently without doubt or hesitation.”
 
The event was chaired by the Amir of Pabna District Jamaat, Professor Abu Taleb Mandal, and was conducted by the Secretary, Professor Maulana Abdul Ghaffar Khan. Central Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, former Amir of Pabna District Jamaat and team member of Bogura Region Maulana Abdur Rahim, Professor Nazrul Islam, and District Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Amir Principal Iqbal Hossain also delivered speeches at the event.
