Dhaka, February 5, 2025 — The verified Facebook page of the banned student organization, Chhatra League, is no longer accessible. A Bangladeshi ethical hacking group, 'Cyber Community,' has claimed responsibility for deactivating the page.

As of Wednesday afternoon, multiple searches for the Chhatra League’s verified page on Facebook yielded no results. In a statement, Cyber Community declared that they took action at 2:10 AM on Tuesday, ahead of a scheduled social media appearance by Sheikh Hasina, the former Prime Minister, who was set to go live at 9 PM.

The group also claimed they are working to deactivate the verified page of the Awami League as part of their broader cyber campaign. Cyber Community, which gained prominence during the 'July Movement,' has positioned itself as a digital resistance force against what they call oppressive regimes.

Hasnat Abdullah, a leader of the anti-discrimination movement, reacted to the incident on Facebook, writing, "Allowing Hasina to speak is India's war against the anti-fascist people of Bangladesh."

Sheikh Hasina has been in exile in India since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, 2024. From there, she and her party leaders have been accused of conspiring against the current administration, according to opposition sources.
