Washington, DC, Feb 05 (V7N) — Barrister Zaima Rahman has arrived in Washington, DC from London to attend the annual National Prayer Breakfast in the United States. She is representing her father, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, at the prestigious event.

Zaima Rahman, the granddaughter of Bangladesh’s late President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, landed in Washington, DC on Tuesday (February 4) local time. She is the only daughter of Tarique Rahman and is set to participate in the event on behalf of the BNP leadership.

The National Prayer Breakfast, scheduled for February 5 and 6, is a gathering attended by US lawmakers, international dignitaries, and religious leaders. US President Donald Trump is expected to address the event.

Previously, a BNP delegation was invited to attend the prayer breakfast on January 10, including Tarique Rahman, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and National Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. However, Tarique Rahman did not travel to the United States, and his daughter is attending in his place.

The National Prayer Breakfast serves as a platform where leaders from various nations set aside political differences to pray for global peace and unity. Zaima Rahman’s presence highlights BNP’s engagement in international forums despite ongoing political challenges in Bangladesh.
