Dhaka, Apr 20 (V7N)- Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has strongly condemned the rise of what he termed "neo-fascism" in Bangladesh, alleging that its supporters are "running rampant" across the country. He made these remarks while speaking at an extended meeting of the Jatiya Party at the party’s Banani office on Sunday afternoon.
GM Quader called for firm resistance against neo-fascism, stating, "It must be stopped with blood if necessary. We must not tolerate it, no matter where it comes from. Life must be sacrificed if that is what it takes."
He further alleged that this new form of fascism is infiltrating media houses and educational institutions, accusing its agents of extortion and manipulation in these sectors.
"Neo-fascism is not only dominating politics—it is now interfering with the operations of media and education. They're collecting money through threats and coercion. We must identify and stop these forces before it’s too late," Quader said.
The Jatiya Party leader's comments reflect growing concern among opposition figures about the suppression of dissent and the curtailment of democratic freedoms in the country. He urged party activists to remain vigilant and united in their stand for justice and democracy.
