Dhaka, Aug 19 (V7N) – The National Citizens Party (NCP) has expelled its Joint Member Secretary Mahin Sarkar for breaching party discipline by filing nomination papers in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections without seeking approval from the party leadership.

Confirming the decision on Tuesday night, NCP Joint Member Secretary (Office) Saleh Uddin Sifat said Mahin Sarkar failed to obtain permission from Convener Md. Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain before accepting the nomination.

“This act has been treated as a serious violation of party discipline,” Sifat stated.

Earlier, on the instructions of the party’s convener and member secretary, Mahin Sarkar was expelled from his post and all responsibilities until further notice for what the party described as “serious breach of discipline.”
