Dhaka, Aug 24 (V7N) – The National Citizens Party (NCP) has withdrawn the show cause notice issued against its joint convener Sarwar Tushar, paving the way for his return to organizational activities after a two-month suspension. The decision was announced in a press release on Saturday (August 23).
According to the statement, a show cause notice was issued to Sarwar Tushar on June 17 following allegations of moral turpitude. Tushar submitted a written reply addressing the matter to the party’s convener, member secretary, political council, and disciplinary committee.
The NCP said that after analyzing his response, the party decided to handle the matter with sensitivity, particularly regarding issues involving women and justice. It added that, based on leaked phone conversations circulated on social media, Tushar refrained from organizational duties for two months as instructed.
During this period, he abstained from participating in key activities, including the nationwide July march, representation in the National Consensus Commission, media engagements on behalf of the NCP, and the party’s march in Narsingdi.
The press release confirmed that, considering his written explanation, overall conduct during the suspension, and review of available evidence, the show cause notice has now been withdrawn. As a result, Sarwar Tushar has been reinstated to all organizational responsibilities within the party.
