Dhaka, Feb 27 (V7N) — Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman condemned the recent brutal crimes against minors in Bangladesh, urging immediate justice and protection for the victims’ families. He expressed his views in a post on his verified Facebook page on Friday (February 27).
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman highlighted the shocking cases, including the torture and murder of 6-year-old Tahiya in Dhaka, the gang rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in Narsingdi, and the killing of a schoolgirl in Hazaribagh. He criticized what he described as the "naked political involvement" and administrative negligence that have allowed such crimes to occur.
He questioned how party leaders, “drunk on power,” could protect perpetrators and pressure victims’ families instead of ensuring justice. Regarding Tahiya’s death, he specifically asked who was behind the continued labeling of the case as an “accident” and who is threatening the family to withdraw the case.
The Jamaat leader called for immediate legal action against the culprits, transparent investigations, and exemplary trials. He also stressed that the state must ensure safety, medical care, legal support, and rehabilitation for the affected families.
He concluded by praying for the forgiveness of the deceased and expressing deep condolences to the families, while reaffirming his determination to fight for justice for the people of Bangladesh.
