Dhaka, Mar 08 (V7N) – A legal case has been filed against Nasiruddin Patwari for allegedly defaming Mirza Abbas, political advisor to the Prime Minister.

The case was lodged by Ashraful Islam at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court (CMM) in Dhaka on Sunday morning. The court recorded the plaintiff’s statement and issued a summons for Nasiruddin Patwari to appear in court.

Md. Amirul Islam Amir, the plaintiff’s lawyer, confirmed that the hearing on the case application is scheduled around 11 am.

The case alleges that Nasiruddin Patwari, who lost the 13th parliamentary election by a large margin to Mirza Abbas in Dhaka-8, made false and defamatory statements during the campaign, which were widely circulated on Facebook and YouTube, damaging Mirza Abbas’s reputation.

It is noted that during the election, Patwari engaged in a war of words on the campaign trail, but Mirza Abbas won the Dhaka-8 seat and became a member of parliament.
