Dhaka, Mar 13 (V7N) — Preparations are underway to transfer Mirza Abbas, Prime Minister’s political advisor and Member of Parliament, to Singapore for advanced medical treatment. An air ambulance is scheduled to land in Dhaka at 3 pm today (Friday, March 13) and will depart for Singapore at 6 pm.

Mirza Abbas, a senior Bangladesh Nationalist Party Standing Committee member, is currently under close observation by a Medical Board at Evercare Hospital Dhaka. His family and party leaders have requested prayers from the public.

On Thursday night, several BNP leaders visited him in the hospital, including Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee member Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, and Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain. In addition, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami also visited the veteran politician.

Mirza Abbas fell unconscious suddenly while drinking water during Iftar last Wednesday. When his condition did not improve, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital late that night.
