“It has manifested that an unknown fear has gripped her. Life falls into such sleepless uncertainty of facing fall when the throne is set up like a house of cards with illegitimacy, forgery and deception.”

The new Awami League government, headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has been dubbed the "blackest artificial regime" in Bangladesh, exhibiting traits of one-party fascism, according to BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday.

"On Thursday, January 11 on the blackest day of 1/11 in Bangladeshi political history, the journey of the blackest artificial government characterized by one-party fascism began with the swearing-in of dummy MPs based on dummy results of a dummy election held with dummy candidates, dummy voters, dummy polling agents, and dummy observers," he said.

Speaking at a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office, he added that by abstaining from the January 7 mock election, the nation's citizens and the democratic community had rejected Sheikh Hasina's "fascist" dictatorship.

"They also rejected every procedure related to that election, including the government, the parliament, the individuals, the results, and the oaths taken."

Sheikh Hasina established the administration at a record-breaking speed by releasing the gazette and taking office quickly after the fake election and before the 11th parliament's term ended, according to Rizvi.

“It has manifested that an unknown fear has gripped her. Life falls into such sleepless uncertainty of facing fall when the throne is set up like a house of cards with illegitimacy, forgery and deception.”

The country's citizens, according to the BNP leader, do not approve of the new cabinet or parliament. "It was rejected by everyone on all fronts."

After BNP officials fled after violent altercations with the police on October 28, Rizvi has been giving virtual press conferences. On Thursday, the party's central office reopened, and on Friday, he held his first in-person press briefing.

He claimed that the leaders and members of their party have been involved in a movement to bring back democracy, the right to vote, and other democratic rights.

The leader of the BNP asserted that by abstaining from the "so-called" election on January 7, voters demonstrated their support for the BNP and other opposition parties.

He said that Sheikh Hasina is being branded as the Prime Minister of illegal votes by the Awami League leaders who lost the January 7 election, recounting incidents of vote fraud, vote robbery, and other irregularities. "The defeated candidates are now publicly saying who have been taken to the polls with how much money," he said.

The secret is gradually becoming revealed. All faults of the ruling party are getting exposed.

BNP has long been saying Sheikh Hasina is a vote thief and now those belonging to Awami League are saying Sheikh Hasina is a vote thief and Sheikh Hasina is a vote robber,” Rizvi said.
