BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir questioned how former IGP Benazir Ahmed and his family left for Singapore despite allegations of massive illegal asset accumulation. Speaking at a discussion on Saturday, Fakhrul cited reports of Benazir withdrawing around Tk60 crore before leaving on May 4.

Fakhrul criticized the government’s claim of cracking down on wrongdoers, calling it deception. He questioned the effectiveness of court orders and Anti-Corruption Commission actions against Benazir.

Fakhrul also criticized the Awami League for fostering corruption and turning Bangladesh into a plundering haven. He urged for the restoration of democracy and emphasized the BNP’s commitment to achieving this goal.
