Dhaka, Aug 21 (V7N): The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) announced a five-day program on Wednesday to commemorate its 46th founding anniversary on September 1, including a rally and a discussion.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir shared the details at a press conference held at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan, following a joint meeting of the party and its associate bodies.

According to the announcement, discussions will be organized in cities, districts, and upazilas on August 31.

On September 1, the party flag will be raised at the Nayapaltan central office and other BNP offices nationwide in the morning. A Fateha will be offered, and wreaths will be placed at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman in Dhaka at 11 a.m. Additionally, Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS) will host a cultural program at the Central Shaheed Minar in the evening.

Further activities include rallies in cities, districts, and upazilas on September 2, the release of fish fry into water bodies across the country on September 3, and a nationwide tree plantation campaign on September 4.

In addition to the central events, BNP’s associate bodies and units across the country will mark the day with their own programs.

To celebrate the anniversary, BNP and its associate bodies will also publish posters and special supplements.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anne were present at the press conference.

On September 1, 1978, Ziaur Rahman founded BNP with a 19-point program aimed at building a self-reliant Bangladesh. The party has since ruled the country for several terms.
