Dhaka, September 2 — Abdus Sobhan Golap, the Publicity and Publication Secretary of the Awami League and former Member of Parliament for Madaripur-3 (Kalkini-Dasar-Sadar Constituency), has been remanded for an additional three days. The remand was granted by the Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Mehdi Hasan's court early Monday morning at around 7:00 a.m.

Golap is being investigated in connection with the murder of garment worker Rubel, which occurred during the quota reform movement in government jobs. He had already been remanded for seven days on August 26th in the same case.

Golap was initially arrested on August 25th from West Nakhalpara in the capital city. The police will continue to interrogate him to gather further details regarding his involvement in the murder case. 

The remand extension indicates ongoing developments in the investigation, with authorities focusing on uncovering more information related to the case and Golap's potential role in the incident.
