Dhaka, Nov 26 (V7N) — In response to alleged conspiracies to rehabilitate Awami League’s influence and ongoing unrest in educational institutions, anti-fascist student organizations have declared a "National Student Solidarity Week" to be observed next week. The announcement came late Monday night after an emergency meeting led by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at Banglamotor in Dhaka.
Hasnat Abdullah, convenor of the movement, stated, "We are witnessing ongoing conspiracies to rehabilitate Awami fascists, alongside institutional movements fueled by provocations. Individuals disguised as students, instigated by groups like Chhatra League, have been creating unrest, including sparking violent situations under the guise of protests like the rickshaw pullers' movement. To counter these activities and maintain institutional harmony, all anti-fascist student organizations have united to observe this week-long program."
Key Resolutions of the Meeting
1. Zero Tolerance for Awami League Rehabilitation: Abdullah emphasized that the coalition of anti-fascist student organizations will prevent any attempts to revive Awami League’s influence. "Awami League will not be allowed to rehabilitate in any form," he said.
2. Call for Asset Confiscation: Alleging that Awami League leaders have smuggled money and invested in foreign properties, Abdullah demanded that all assets of MPs and ministers abroad be confiscated. "These assets fund conspiracies against the nation. Immediate action is required to ensure national stability," he added.
3. Institutional Harmony: The program aims to safeguard peace and resolve unrest within educational institutions, attributed to organized provocations.
The meeting saw representation from key student organizations, including:
Chhatra Dal: Amanullah Aman (Central Organizing Secretary) and Ganesh Chandra Roy Sahas (DU President).
Islami Chhatra Shibir: SM Farhad (DU Secretary).
Independent Bangladesh Chhatra Sansad: Jamaluddin Mohammad Khalid (President).
Islamic Jurisprudence: Muntasir Ahmad (Secretary General) and Khairul Ahsan Marzan (Public University Secretary)
Bangladesh Student Rights Council: Bin Yamin Mollah (President) and Nazmul Hasan (Secretary)
Student Federation: Moshiur Rahman Khan Richard (President) and Saikat Arif (Secretary).
From the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, convenor Hasnat Abdullah, chief organizer Abdul Hannan Masood, and spokesperson Umama Fatema led the discussions.
The coalition plans to organize demonstrations, discussions, and awareness programs nationwide during the "National Student Solidarity Week." Leaders have urged all anti-fascist parties and student groups to actively participate.
The program reflects a collective stand against perceived political manipulation and corruption, with student bodies vowing to uphold democratic values and institutional stability.
