Dhaka, Mar 06 (V7N) –The government has increased the food allocation for patients hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the July-August uprising.
This information was confirmed by relevant sources on Wednesday.
This decision aims to improve the quality of food provided to patients receiving treatment in hospitals.
Following a letter sent by the Finance Division on February 24, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued directives to all government hospitals.
Earlier, on February 22, the Ministry of Health sent a letter to the Ministry of Finance requesting additional funds.
On Sunday, a letter was issued approving the increased allocation, signed by the Ministry's additional secretary, Md Shahadat Hossain Kabir.
The Ministry's directive states that, in order to improve the quality of food for patients injured during the July-August uprising, the food allocation per patient has been raised from Tk175 to Tk250.
The approval for this change was granted by the Finance Division. However, the directive also stipulates that all relevant rules and financial regulations must be adhered to.
The increased allocation of Tk250 per patient per day will not serve as a precedent for any other cases and will remain in effect until June 30.
The Ministry of Health has requested that all necessary actions be taken, in compliance with the mentioned conditions, following the Finance Division's approval.
