According to the case statement, while Sheikh Hasina was serving as Prime Minister, she abused her power by concealing property details in her affidavit, including a house or flat under her name and that of her family members, in violation of laws, rules, and policies related to the Purbachal New City Housing Project.
The charge states that she, along with other public servants and officials from the Ministry of Housing and RAJUK, influenced the allocation of plots, specifically plot number 9 of road number 203, sector 27, in the highly valuable diplomatic area of the Purbachal Housing Project. The plot was allegedly registered in her name through illegal means.
The ACC filed the charge sheet in the first half of last month.
On April 10, the same court issued arrest warrants against 18 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina and her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, over corruption in plot allocation. Then, on April 13, the court issued further arrest warrants for 53 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, Rehana’s son Radwan Mujib Siddique Bobby, Rehana’s daughter Tulip Rizwana Siddique, and Azmina Siddique, for abusing power to obtain a 30-katha plot from RAJUK.
