Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury made an impromptu visit to a construction site on Titas Road in South Banasree, Dhaka, after receiving reports of a house being built in violation of regulations.
During his inspection, Minister Chowdhury observed that the construction lacked adequate space on the roadside, with scattered construction materials and an absence of safety measures such as covering the under-construction building.
In response, he directed Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Executive Magistrate Jahangir Alam to take appropriate action according to the relevant regulations.
Following the directive, the DSCC magistrate imposed a fine of Tk11.24 lakh on the house owner for persisting with construction work in violation of rules and regulations.
Minister Chowdhury emphasized that legal actions will be pursued against individuals who flout government regulations or contribute to environmental pollution. He urged everyone to adhere to the law to safeguard and enhance the environment.
