Dhaka, Nov 03 (V7N)- Tablighi Jamaat Bangladesh (Shura-e-Nezam) has announced that the next Biswa Ijtema will be held in Tongi in March next year, following an agreement with the government’s proposal.

The announcement was made at a press conference organized by Tablighi Jamaat Bangladesh (Shura-e-Nezam) at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Monday (November 3) afternoon.

The leaders of the faction also demanded the arrest and punishment of those involved in the killings at the Ijtema ground during the last event.

Earlier, Religious Affairs Advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain told reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday (November 2) that the decision to hold the Biswa Ijtema after the national elections was made following discussions with both factions of the Tablighi Jamaat.

At Monday’s press conference, it was informed that the upcoming Ijtema activities will be supervised by the Shura-e-Nezam. The speakers added that a circular simplifying visa procedures for foreign participants will be issued by the last week of November to ensure the timely arrival of international guests.

Mufti Kefayatullah Azhari, leader of the Shura-e-Nezam, urged various government agencies to announce the date and schedule of the Ijtema soon and to initiate all necessary preparations for the event.

The Shura-e-Nezam leaders alleged that the previous Ijtema had come under attack by Saad supporters, but lamented that there has been no visible progress in the investigation of that incident. They also declared that Saad followers have no right to organize an Ijtema and urged the government to take action if any attempt is made in that regard.
