Dhaka, Nov 27 (V7N) — The Election Commission (EC) has held another crucial meeting with law enforcement agencies ahead of announcing the schedule for the upcoming 13th National Assembly elections.

The meeting began at 10:30 am on Thursday at the Election Building in Agargaon, chaired by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin. Four election commissioners, the Home Secretary, the EC Secretary, and top officials of various law enforcement forces and agencies were also present.

According to EC sources, the commission is reviewing the overall security preparations for the national polls. Detailed instructions are expected to be finalized regarding security strategies, deployment plans, and field operations.

Today’s meeting may also determine:

  • How long law enforcement agencies will remain deployed before and after the election

  • How many personnel will be stationed at each polling center

  • Coordination methods among the police, BGB, RAB, Ansar, and other forces

Earlier, during the first pre-preparatory meeting on October 20, a proposal was placed to deploy security personnel for eight days before and after the election. It was also estimated that 13 to 18 law enforcement members may be deployed at each polling station to ensure a peaceful and orderly voting process.

With the election schedule expected soon, the EC is moving to finalize all necessary security arrangements to conduct the national polls smoothly.
