Dhaka, Jan 22 (V7N) — The Election Commission (EC) has announced that the National Identity Card (NID) correction process will resume from January 25.
ASM Humayun Kabir, Director General of the National Identity Registration Division, informed the media on Thursday (January 22) that the NID correction process, which had been temporarily halted, will be fully operational again.
He explained that the process was paused for finalizing the voter list for the upcoming referendum and 13th National Parliament elections, though some urgent corrections continued to be accepted on a limited basis.
The EC hopes that once the service resumes, citizens will be able to easily update their information, ensuring the accuracy of the voter list ahead of the elections.
It is worth noting that the NID correction process was temporarily stopped from 4 pm on November 24, 2025, during preparations for the voter list.
