Dhaka, Feb 23 (V7N)- Prime Minister’s Defense Advisor Shamsul Islam has said the government is firmly committed to modernizing and expanding the country’s armed forces.

He made the remarks during a visit to the Ministry of Defence at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Monday (February 23) afternoon.

During the visit, the newly appointed advisor was received by Defence Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Uddin. Officials briefed him on the ministry’s ongoing activities and future plans.

In an exchange of views with ministry officials, Shamsul Islam said the government is working to further strengthen the national defense system. He urged officials to carry out their duties sincerely to fulfill the government’s election commitments.

He also emphasized enhancing the capacity of both military and civilian institutions as part of efforts to build an independent and developed Bangladesh.
