Dhaka, Mar 01 (V7N) – Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed stated that the government will take immediate action to bring top terrorists and extortionists under the law. Speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Sunday, the minister emphasized that the authorities have already identified key suspects and various intelligence agencies are actively working on enforcement.
On the recent extortion shooting incident in Chittagong, the Home Minister said, "Nothing will be left undone to ensure those involved are held accountable."
Addressing public concerns about the Narsingdi rape case, he noted that orders were issued to arrest all criminals within 24–48 hours, which have been successfully carried out. Similar measures have been implemented in other serious cases.
Salahuddin Ahmed added that law and order in the country has improved significantly, attributing the progress to the establishment of a political government that brings stability and public confidence. He also promised speedy investigations, timely charge sheets, and independent exemplary trials, asserting that such measures will deter future criminal acts.
The Home Minister concluded, "People now understand the strictness of law enforcement agencies and the sincerity of the government in ensuring justice."
