Jessore, Apr 27 (V7N)– Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Jessore on Monday (April 27) morning to inaugurate several development projects, lay foundation stones, and attend a public meeting.

He departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport earlier in the day for the visit, which marks his first official trip to Jessore since assuming office after the 13th National Parliament election.

According to the schedule, the Prime Minister will begin his visit in Sharsha Upazila, where he is set to inaugurate the Ulshi Canal excavation program. A public gathering and roadside rally are also planned at the venue.

Later in the day, after a brief rest at the Jessore Circuit House, he will lay the foundation stone for a 500-bed hospital at Jessore Medical College, aimed at improving healthcare services in the region.

The Prime Minister will then address a public meeting at Jessore Central Eidgah Maidan, where large gatherings of party leaders, activists, and local residents are expected.

Following the day-long activities, the Prime Minister is scheduled to depart from Jessore Airport in the evening and return to Dhaka at night.

This visit is considered significant as it highlights the government’s focus on regional development, infrastructure improvement, and public engagement soon after taking office. It is also his second visit to Jessore in the past three months, having previously attended a major election rally in the district earlier this year.
