Dhaka, May 26 (V7N)- Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that any attacks on law enforcement agencies, including police and RAB, are being strictly suppressed and such actions will continue to be dealt with firmly in the future.

He made the remarks during a briefing with journalists at Police Headquarters on Tuesday (May 26), responding to questions regarding recent incidents of violence against law enforcement personnel.

The minister emphasized that the government will not allow any “terrorist sanctuary” to exist anywhere in the country, adding that such hideouts will be eliminated through coordinated operations by security agencies.

He further said that some groups are attempting to destabilize the situation, believing they can regain influence in certain areas, but assured that law enforcement agencies will act decisively to prevent any such attempts.

Referring to the situation in Jungle Salimpur in Chattogram, the minister said there are plans to develop the area into training facilities for different security forces, along with relocating prison infrastructure there.

He also alleged that in the absence of effective governance in the past, certain groups expanded their influence in the area, which the government now aims to bring under full control through administrative and security measures.
