Dhaka, Jul 19 (V7N)- Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has urged government officials and employees to carry out their responsibilities with patriotism, integrity and professionalism without political bias.
He made the remarks while inaugurating a workshop organized on the occasion of National Public Service Day at Shahbagh in the capital on Sunday (July 19).
The Home Minister said public administration must move away from the trend of political influence that has continued for nearly 17 years and transform itself into a system truly dedicated to serving citizens.
He emphasized the need to ensure transparency and accountability at every level of administration, saying that government officials have a vital role in ensuring public welfare.
Salahuddin Ahmed also highlighted the importance of improving the national statistical system to support accurate policy-making. He called for greater focus on key sectors, including agriculture and remittance, while stressing the expansion of technical education to create skilled human resources.
He said an efficient and people-oriented administration is essential for the country’s overall development and progress.
