Dhaka, July 29 (V7N)- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 503 people in regular operations conducted across the capital over the past 24 hours and filed 30 cases, according to a press release issued on Wednesday.
The DMP's Media and Public Relations Department said the arrests included 34 people from Ramna Division, 35 from Lalbagh Division, 41 from Wari Division, 82 from Motijheel Division, 74 from Tejgaon Division, 122 from Mirpur Division, 38 from Gulshan Division, 69 from Uttara Division and eight by the Detective Branch.
During the operations, police recovered 107 kilograms of cannabis, 25 Yaba tablets, gold ornaments weighing 8 bhori 13 annas and 5 rati, nine mobile phones, two old motorcycles and rescued one victim.
According to the DMP, the suspects were arrested during raids conducted at different police stations across the capital, including operations targeting narcotics. The police said legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway.
