Cox's Bazar, Aug 07 (V7N) – Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Friday said the people of Bangladesh would not accept the politics of those whom he accused of being responsible for genocide and crimes against humanity without expressing remorse or apologizing.
The minister made the remarks while attending the inauguration of newly constructed residential flats of the Cox's Bazar Development Authority. He later took part in the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the new building of Cox's Bazar Medical College Hospital.
Addressing the events, Salahuddin Ahmed alleged that a political party operating from abroad was attempting to create instability in Bangladesh.
However, he said such efforts would not succeed, expressing confidence that the country's people would reject attempts to destabilize the political environment.
The Home Minister further said that the people of Bangladesh would not accept any political activities by those whom he alleged were responsible for genocide and crimes against humanity but had neither shown remorse nor apologized to the nation.
His remarks came during official development programmes in Cox's Bazar. The minister did not identify the political party he was referring to, and there was no immediate response from any political group regarding his comments.
