Dhaka, Jan 31 (V7N) – The 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair is set to conclude today, with Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin officially declaring the fair's closure at 4:00 pm. However, the event will remain open until 10:00 pm for visitors to enjoy the final hours of the exhibition.

Visitor Rush in Final Hours

Since the morning, visitors from Dhaka and surrounding areas have been flocking to the fair, taking advantage of the various discounts offered by exhibitors. Stall owners have reported an increase in sales towards the end of the fair, although they have expressed dissatisfaction with the overall profit margins.

Many vendors noted that despite the surge in sales, the final numbers do not reflect significant profits, largely due to low attendance earlier in the event. The cold wave during the earlier days of the fair had also contributed to fewer visitors from Dasharnathi. Additionally, weekdays, except for Fridays and Saturdays, saw relatively low footfall.

No Extension Granted

Despite the growing number of visitors in the final days, the authorities did not agree to requests from exhibitors to extend the fair's duration.

Inauguration and Overview

The 29th edition of the fair was inaugurated by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on January 1 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. Since then, it has served as a key platform for local and international businesses to showcase products, forge new trade connections, and promote cultural exchange.
