A fortunate single ticket buyer in Switzerland won a record jackpot of 64.59 million Swiss francs ($73.09 million) on Saturday, according to a statement from Swiss Lotto.

It claimed, without more explanation, that the winning ticket belonged to someone who spoke German or Italian in the German-speaking region of Switzerland.

According to the ATS Keystone news agency, the victory is the most that a single player has ever received in the more than 50-year history of Swiss Lotto.

The 48.6 million franc record was the previous high. Three contestants apparently shared a higher reward of 70 million Swiss francs that was awarded in 2016.

Since its founding in 1970, Swiss Lotto has produced more than 1,000 millionaires, according to the company.
