Dhaka, Nov 16 (V7N) – Garment exports from Bangladesh to the European Union have increased compared to last year, according to a report by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
The report stated that in the first nine months of 2025, from January to September, Bangladesh’s garment exports to the EU rose by 7.14 percent year-on-year, reaching €68.47 billion. The growth was mainly driven by higher order volumes.
Total garment import volumes in Europe increased by 13.8 kilograms, while the average unit price decreased by 5.86 percent. The report noted that despite rising demand, European buyers are increasingly focused on purchasing larger quantities at lower prices.
Industry experts highlighted that Bangladesh has maintained competitive pricing and buyer confidence, which has helped the country expand its market share. However, the shrinking profit margins amid rising demand remain a concern for long-term sustainability in the sector.
