Dhaka, Jan 20 (V7N) — The Crime Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 21 individuals during a 24-hour anti-drug operation across various areas of the capital. The operation began at 6 a.m. on Sunday and concluded at 6 a.m. on Monday.
Law enforcement officials recovered two kilograms and 452 grams of marijuana, 241 pieces of Yaba tablets, and two bottles of Phensidyl during the raids.
Following the operation, 14 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act at respective police stations against the detained individuals.
A DMP spokesperson stated that these regular operations are part of ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse and trafficking in the city. The department remains committed to maintaining law and order by curbing illegal drug activities.
