48 were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation and 89 in Dhaka South City Corporation as fire assaults.

In 71 days since October 28, there have been 137 recorded arson attacks in two of Dhaka's city corporations, according to a report released on Saturday by the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Of them, 48 were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation and 89 in Dhaka South City Corporation as fire assaults.
"During this period, 303 arson attacks were reported nationwide, resulting in eight fatalities and five injuries," stated Talha Bin Jashim, the media cell station officer for the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Out of 303 arson attacks nationwide, the fire service reports that 194 instances took place in the division of Dhaka, 35 in Chattogram, 38 in Rajshahi, 9 in Barishal, 10 in Rangpur, 5 in Khulna, 6 in Mymensingh, and 6 in Sylhet division.

The following items were set on fire during this time: 176 buses, 49 trucks, 25 covered vans, 5 trains, 3 microbuses, 3 private cars, 21 motorbikes, 1 ambulance, 10 pickup trucks, 3 auto rickshaws powered by CNG, 1 human hauler, 3 Lagunas, 1 fire service water truck, and 1 police vehicle.

During this period, the fire service reported that nine educational institutions, five BNP offices, one Awami League office, one police box, one councillor office, two electricity offices, one bus counter, two showrooms, and one Buddhist monastery were among the twenty-three enterprises that caught fire.

Based on the statistical data, arson attacks occurred on 47 out of the 71 days. Also, for a whole 24 days, no fire attack was reported.

After examining the cases, the fire department discovered that there were more arson attacks at night than during the day.

During this time, 5,39 firefighting units around the nation employed 2,959 personnel to put out the fire.

Both Jamaat-e-Islami and the BNP organised violent demonstrations in the city on October 28.

Two persons, one of whom was a police constable, died when numerous cars were set on fire.
